School Funding Adjustments

For Information

Updated school funding allocations have been published and can be downloaded from www.barnet.gov.uk/school-funding.

The main change is to EHCP (Statement) top-up funding, which is based on Summer 2018 actual pupils rather than estimates.  This includes corrections to 2017/18 allocations as well as 2018/19 funding.  There is a top-up report showing the total number of pupils by band and (anonymised) pupil level funding.

Where revised bills have been sent in by schools, business rate (NNDR) allocations have also been amended with corrections to both 2018/19 end-of-year allocations and revised charges for the 2017/18 financial year.  Schools are funded for the actual cost of NNDR so allocations have been updated to match the bills.

Please refer to the News page to view the details of all other changes.

We have not yet been notified of the revised Pupil Premium FSM or Service Child allocations based on the January 2018 Census.  This will be adjusted at the next release, once allocations have been provided by the DfE.

Schools will receive their autopayments at the end of June.

If you have any queries please contact the School Funding Team at: schoolfunding@barnet.gov.uk.

Greater London Provincial Council Pay Award (Support Staff)

For Information

Details relating to the GLPC 2018 and 2019 pay increases are contained within the enclosures section of the circular together with updated Full Time Equivalent Unified Reward grades and pay ranges.

The Barnet Living Wage now links with the lowest point on the Unified Reward pay scale so is superseded by the pay award from 1 April 2018 for schools using /adopting Unified Reward.

Any schools who have adopted the Barnet Living Wage but not Unified Reward need to pay the equivalent of SCP 12 (or scp 4 as at 1 April 2019) on the new pay scale to equate to the BLW rate.

We have also enclosed answers to some FAQs with regard to the transfer of information under new GDPR requirements. These have been provided by the legal team.
